A = Admit you are a sinner in need of God.

Your relationship with Jesus Christ begins with an admission that you need God. You must admit that you need God to . . .

Forgive you of your sins, those attitudes or actions that do not meet God’s standards. "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us form all unrighteousness." 1 John 1: 8,9

Give you eternal life. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

Show you His purpose for your life. "The thief (Satan) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." John 10:10

B = Believe that Jesus died for your sins.

The punishment for your sin is DEATH. God loves you very much, He provided a way for you to escape that punishment. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Jesus can and will save anyone from an eternity without God. He died and rose again for your justification, to make your relationship right with God.

B = Believe that Jesus rose from the dead.

"He (Jesus) was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification." Romans 4:25

Belief in the death and resurrection of Jesus for my sins is essential for salvation, bu it is not enough. "You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe–and tremble." James 2:19 You must do more than believe in Jesus. You must confess him as Lord of your life.

C = Confess Jesus as Lord of your life.

Confessing Jesus as Lord means to give total control of your life over to Jesus. You give him the ownership of your life. He becomes your new boss. If you confess Jesus as Lord of your life, the Bible says you will be saved. "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9,10

Pray

The following prayer is one you can pray to confess Jesus as Lord and ask Him to save you.

Dear God, I admit I am a sinner in need of you. Please forgive me of my sins and give me abundant life here on earth and eternal life with you in heaven. I believe Jesus died and rose again for my sins. I confess Jesus as Lord and Savior of my life. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

How to join the local church, Mount Joy Church of God.

If you are interested in joining the Mount Joy Church of God please contact the Sr. Pastor for available membership classes. Membership classes normally meet during the Sunday school hour. After completion of the membership classes you will be recommended to the church council for membership. Upon approval by the church council the candidate for membership will be brought into membership of the church during a Sunday morning worship service at which time the candidate will take their vows of church membership that are listed below.

The Promises (Vows) of Church Membership

1. I have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior (being born again) and I will follow and serve Him as Lord of my life.

2. I accept the Bible as the inspired Word of God to make it my guide through life and I promise to follow its teachings faithfully.

3. I promise to support the church faithfully with my presence, my natural gifts and talents and my means (financially) as the Lord may bless and prosper me.
